
Joint road check results in multiple charges

Mackenzie RCMP, Indigenous Policing Services and BC Highway Patrol, Prince George, conducted a road check on Highway 97 near Tudyah Lake on Saturday, January 22, 2022.
During this counter attack initiative, police checked approximately 150 vehicles. Of the drivers stopped at the road check, three were given driving suspensions due to impairment. Two as a result of alcohol and one case for drugs.
One person was driving while under a driving suspension and will appear in court in April 2022. Two other people were issued driving prohibition due to a notice on their driver’s license.
Multiple verbal warning and written warnings were issued and Mackenzie RCMP will continue to work with other specialized sections to assure road safety,
