Police seek witnesses to injury crash

On Monday, January 3 2022, at approximately 9:30 am, Vanderhoof RCMP responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 16 at Lund Rad, East of the community. The crash involved a commercial vehicle that was carrying hazardous cargo.

Upon arrival RCMP were advised that one driver was trapped and had been extricated by the Vanderhoof Fire Department and was being transported by ambulance to hospital . The driver was reported to be in unstable condition.

Due to the complexity of the investigation the highway was closed for multiple hours but has since been opened to all traffic.

Vanderhoof RCMP are looking for any witnesses to the crash or drivers who may have dash cam footage and were travelling in the area between 9:00 am and 9:45 am .

Police would also like to speak with the drivers of two logging trucks who had stopped at the collision scene to determine if they can offer any further information.
