Motor vehicle incident on highway 99

On January 2, 2022 at approximately 2:32 pm the Squamish RCMP responded to a motor vehicle incident in the 13000 block of Highway 99, south of Porteau Cove. A north bound vehicle lost control and went into the ditch at this location. Subsequently another vehicle going the same direction also lost control and struck the first vehicle in the ditch as well as one of the occupants of the first vehicle. The victim suffered serious but non life threatening injuries. The Squamish RCMP are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collisions but road conditions were a factor.
