On December 30, 2021, Mackenzie RCMP received information from a local resident, that a 32-year-old man, who has previously been charged and is currently bound by probation conditions not to be within 30 km of the town of Mackenzie was seen at a local residence.

Several hours later, with a Feeney Warrant in hand, and assistance from the RCMP North District Emergency Response and Police Service Dog Teams, officers returned to the residence to arrest the man. He was taken into custody without incident, after being found hiding in the basement.
He remains in custody and has not yet been charged for these new breach allegations, therefore cannot be identified. He is expected to appear in court later today via teleconference.
It is as a result of a tip from the public that we were able to arrest this individual, we want to encourage the community to continue to report any and all criminal and suspicious incidents, together we can make Mackenzie a safe place to live and work, states Cpl.
