
Police investigate report involving a firearm

On Thursday, December 23, 2021, shortly after 8:00 a.m., police were called to a local restaurant after it was reported that a man had pointed a handgun at an employee.
Police immediately responded and discovered that a man walked by the drive thru lane, pointed a handgun at the employee, and left without further incident.
Video surveillance was examined and police were able to identify the suspect, a Fernie man, who was arrested a short time later. The handgun was determined to be a pellet gun.
This investigation is ongoing and charges could may result,
said Cpl. Dan Hay, Elk Valley RCMP.
