On Monday, December 13 at just after 1pm, Fort St John RCMP received a report of a Break and Enter in progress on the east side of town.
Front line police officers attended and located a man and woman in a residence, both of which had lawful right to be in the residence. While in attendance front line police officers observed loaded restricted pistol magazines that were insecure. The man and woman were arrested for Possession of Restricted Weapon and Careless Storage of a Firearm.
A search warrant was obtained and executed whereby police located a loaded Kel-Tec rifle, an SKS rifle, a modified 12 gauge shotgun, a variety of ammunition and numerous magazines including two prohibited high capacity magazines, all of which were insecure throughout the residence.
Police also located a large amount of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and small amounts of methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl.
The woman was released without charges and the man was released on an Undertaking with a court date of April 4, 2022.
