Serious car accident at Porteau Cove closes Highway 99

On November 2, 2021, just before 9:00 a.m., Squamish RCMP received multiple reports of a serious head-on car accident on Highway 99 north of Porteau Cove.

Squamish RCMP have Highway 99 closed in both north and south directions for the police investigation, and anticipate the highway closure to last a few hours as the Integrated Collision and Reconstruction Service is assisting.

Two persons were involved in the accident. Fire Rescue extracted one of the drivers from their car, and Emergency Health Services is transporting both to local area hospitals.
