1. 2021-6124 – Hit and Run
On September 4, 2021, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of hit and run after the driver from a red sports car side swiped another car on Highway 99 near Lions Bay. Police located the driver of the sports car, completed their investigation, and issued the driver a violation ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to remain at scene of an accident. Neither driver from the hit and run sustained any injuries, nor were cars badly damaged. 

2. 2021-6065 et al – Theft, Fraud
On September 2, 2021 at about 2:45 am, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of theft from a parked car of wallet and contents. After stealing the wallet, thieves made a fraudulent transaction at a local gas station. Unknown thieves also did a rash of theft from vehicles in the 40200 block Government Rd., and 385000 block Sky Pilot Dr. over this past week. Police remind residents to secure vehicles and property, and to report through contacting the local detachment or through online crime reporting at https://ocre-sielc.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/squamish

3. 2021-6055/2021-6059 – Thefts of Autos
On September 2, 2021, at about 7:45 am, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of stolen 2007 Toyota pickup truck from the 10000 block Valley Dr. The week previous, a 1991 Toyota pickup truck was stolen from a local business’ parking lot in the 39000 block Discovery Way and later recovered in the downtown area of Squamish. The recovered vehicle file remains under investigation.
