File # 2021-5329

On August 9, 2021, at about 6:30 pm, Squamish RCMP responded to a serious single motorcycle accident on Highway 99 in Lions Bay, claiming the life of the rider.

An off duty fire fighter was one of the first on scene and started first aid. Lions Bay Fire Rescue, Squamish Emergency Health Services, and Squamish RCMP tried to give life saving help to the male who succumbed to his injuries. The Integrated Collision and Reconstruction Service attended to assist with the investigation.

Police are asking for anyone who was in the area during this time to contact Squamish RCMP, especially if they have dash camera or mobile phone video. Also, police seek to speak with the driver of a grey Toyota sedan and another motorcyclist who were in the area and might have seen what happened.

We feel for friends, family, and responders who helped to try and save the rider, making our appeal more important for anyone with information to contact police so we can piece together what happened, says Corporal Angela Kermer of the Squamish RCMP.

Squamish RCMP asks anyone with any information regarding the above file to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100, or, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or, go to www.solvecrime.ca
