First responders search for man who fell off paddle board into Alice Lake

On August 8, 2021, at about 9:00 a.m., at Alice Lake Provincial Park in Squamish, BC, a man who was paddle boarding with some family and friends fell into the water, and has not yet resurfaced.

Emergency Health Services, Fire Rescue, Search and Rescue, and RCMP all deployed out of Squamish in attempt to locate the man. The RCMP Dive Team has been called out and will be attending.

BC Provincial Park Rangers have subsequently closed Alice Lake Park as the police investigation continues.

Squamish RCMP’s Victim Services is engaged to support the man’s family, friends, and anyone who was at the lake and now wishes support services.

We are utilizing all the resources we have available to find this man and bring him back to and support his family and friends, says Corporal Angela Kermer of the Squamish RCMP.
