1. 2021-5105 – Immediate Roadside Prohibition
On August 2, 2021, Squamish RCMP members did an impaired driving road-check in the downtown area. During the check, members identified a driver who showed signs of impairment who then failed approved screening device tests. Under the Motor Vehicle Act, police issued the driver a 24 hour driving prohibition, a 90 day immediate roadside prohibition, and impounded the owner’s car for 30 days.
2. 2021-5098 – Catalytic Converter Theft
On August 2, 2021, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of catalytic converter theft from a 2010 black Ford Escape. The car was parked at the Rubble Creek trailhead parking lot, and happened sometime in the afternoon. Police ask anyone parked in the area during this time to check their cars and contact the detachment if their converter has been stolen.
3. 2021-4921 – Mischief
On July 27, 2021, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of mischief at a construction site in the 38600 block Buckley Ave. On attendance, police did not locate any people, but, found two bikes, two speakers, and liquor abandoned. Members disposed of the liquor on scene and brought the bikes and speakers back to the detachment for the owners to claim.
4. 2021-800066 – Theft
Squamish RCMP investigated a report they received through the Online Crime Reporting system of a theft that happened between July 26, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. and July 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Thieves stole the front and rear licence plates along with validation tag decals.
