Missing hiker located

The missing person, an overdue hiker, who police were searching for since July 9, 2021, has been located in Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Squamish RCMP thanks our partners, Coastal Fire, who were responding by helicopter to a report of fire when they located the hiker. Police have since connected the hiker with his family.

This is an extremely good ending to this story, Coastal Fire’s sighting brought relief to detachment members and staff in the office today, there was literal cheer, says Cpl. Angela Kermer of Squamish RCMP.
