
Two car collision on Highway 99 injures four and claims young life

On June 28, 2021 at about 10:45 pm, Squamish RCMP responded to a two-car collision on Highway 99 north of Alice Lake, near Squamish, BC.
The initial police investigation indicates a car with three Squamish youth, and a van with one occupant, collided. The 17-year-old driver of the car died at scene, and Emergency Health Services transported the remaining people to local hospitals with unknown injuries.
Squamish RCMP is working with the Integrated Collision and Reconstruction Service, which is assessing the accident scene, and the detachment’s General Investigation Section has conduct of the file.
Victim Services from Squamish RCMP is providing support for anyone in need, and Squamish School District 48 has support resources available for all Squamish students.
