1. Theft and Mischief Involving Parked Cars
Over the past week, Squamish RCMP investigated eight mischief to and theft from vehicle calls in local areas including Lions Bay, downtown Squamish, and Alice Lake. In some cases, car windows were simply smashed, while in other cases, thieves smashed windows and took items such as books, an iPad, tools, and catalytic converters. Police remind car owners to secure their vehicles and remove any type of valuables to prevent crime.

2. 2021-3555 Theft of Vehicle
Squamish RCMP investigated a report of stolen truck from Lions Bay that happened sometime between June 11, 2021 at 6:00 pm and June 12, 2021 at 12:30 pm. The truck, a black 2020 Dodge Ram 3500, has a black metal rack back with side rails in the bed, and a rainbow Chrysler licence plate frame.

3. 2021-3471 - Break and Enter to Business
On June 9, 2021 at about 3:45 am, Squamish RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at a business in the 38000 block Queens Way. Police located and arrested two suspects for break and enter as they were trying to leave the area with their break-in tools. Police released the two from custody with future court dates.

4. Online Crime Reporting (OCR)
Squamish residents can report certain crimes online, including: Damage/mischief to property or vehicle under $5,000; bike theft under $5,000; theft under $5,000; theft under $5,000 from vehicle; and lost property. By reporting these crimes either through OCR or by contacting the detachment, people help police gather information that can help solve crimes.
