On May 26, 2021 just before 8 p.m., Salmon Arm RCMP was called to a Sparrow Road address by a woman caller who advised that a man had threatened her and a relative with a gun.
Front line police officers arrived on scene and through investigation learned that the suspect had allegedly struck a 21-year-old male resident of the home with a bat.
A search for the suspect was carried out and a 26-year-old Salmon Arm man was taken into police custody, on another residential property nearby. He was later released on strict conditions, and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
Although police did not locate any firearm during their search, investigators seized a base ball bat as part of the ongoing investigation.
