File # 2021-1040 Shoplifter Suspect located and arrested.
Whistler RCMP received a report of a shoplifter from a local grocery store on March 3rd. The suspect had concealed several items in a bag, leaving the store without paying for them. The store was able to provide a licence plate for the suspects’ vehicle as well as video of the suspect. Whistler RCMP were able to locate the vehicle in question and, despite the attempt by the passenger to duck under the dash, observed the suspect in the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and the passenger, a 19yr old female from Squamish was arrested for theft. The suspect was subsequently released on documents requiring her to attend court at a later date.
File # 2021-1103 Arrest of a male for an unendorsed warrant
On March 3, 2021 at approximately 10:30 AM the Pemberton RCMP conducted a traffic stop in the area of Aster Street, Pemberton BC. RCMP learnt that the male driver had an unendorsed warrant for Flight from police and Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. These charges were from an incident that occurred in Whistler back in October 2020 when the male fled from police in a stolen white Ford F-350. The male driver puled over and stopped for police without incident. The male was arrested for his outstanding warrant and held in custody for a bail hearing, where he was later released on court documents. RCMP served the driver an unlicensed driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
