File # 2020-266
On Saturday, July 18th 2020 at 10:20 PM, Stewart RCMP received a report of a robbery that had occurred outside, near the King Edward Hotel.
The victim, an adult female, had just left the pub in the hotel after it had closed for the evening. As she was walking towards 5th Ave, she heard some rustling
in the greenspace. She turned to see what the noise was and was struck multiple times.
The suspects demanded the woman hand over her purse. The suspects dumped the contents of the purse, taking only the money. Both suspects then fled on foot through the greenspace.
The suspects have been described as male, one was approx. 6 feet tall, medium build and wearing black pullover hoodie, while the second suspect was described as 5’9 tall, skinny build, wearing a blue Carhartt pullover hoodie. Both had their hoods pulled over their heads, covering their faces.
The woman received medical treatment for injuries that have been described as minor. This is highly unusual for the small community of Stewart and we hope the public can help identify those responsible
