Terrace man struck by train is in stable condition

A Terrace man was struck by a train on the CN Railway in the early hours of September 15, 2021.

Terrace RCMP were called to assist with this collision and learned that the man was on the tracks east of Kalum Street when it happened. When the engineer observed the man on the tracks, he activated his brakes and whistle. Fortunately, the man responded by moving off the tracks, however, was partially struck by the train causing non-life threatening injuries.

Paramedics attended and transported the man to a local area hospital for further treatment, and is expected to make a full recovery.

There were no known witnesses to this event and no criminality is suspected.
