During the months of September and October 2020, Prince Rupert RCMP held a Willow Weaving Workshop to engage youth in a positive social activity.

The workshop, led by artist Anneh Kessels, found youths aged 13 to 16 weaving with natural materials, creating willow baskets and other decorative items in a safe, physically distanced setting.

This incredible opportunity allowed for the participants to acquire new skills and build positive relationships with their local police. Some of their artwork is on display at the Prince Rupert RCMP.

Special thanks to the Prince Rupert Rowing and Yacht Club for providing the youth with a weaving venue and to the Prince Rupert Aboriginal Community Services Society for letters of support.
