On August 2, 2020 shortly before 3 p.m., Creston RCMP responded to a report of a collision between two motorcycles on Highway 3A in Wynndel, a few kilometres south of Kuskanook Harbour.

Creston RCMP, the Creston Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Services all responded to the scene. Witnesses told police that a southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a northbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Both the southbound motorcyclist, a 45-year-old Creston woman and the northbound motorcyclist a 40-year-old Linden Alberta man sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Both riders were subsequently air lifted by BC Emergency Health Services Air Ambulance for medical care.

Initial findings at the scene suggest that the southbound female motorcyclist crossed the centre line prior to the impact. Another motorcyclist travelling in tandem with the male rider, narrowly avoided being involved in the collision as well.

Investigators will be reviewing possible video footage captured by one of the riders helmet cams. Investigators ask that any other witnesses, who have not yet spoken to police or anyone with dash camera footage of the incident to contact the Creston RCMP at 250-428-9313.
