Man charged in Crofton double homicide

A Duncan man has now been charged in the double homicide of two people over the weekend in Crofton.

Justin James Dodd, 33, of Duncan is expected to appear in court on November 2, 2021 to answer to two counts of second degree murder in relation to an incident in Crofton early Saturday morning.

Just after midnight on October 23, 2021, North Cowichan Duncan RCMP frontline officers were called to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a house in the 8600 block of Crofton Road. When officers arrived they located two deceased persons in the residence, with another man who was quickly arrested without incident. (link to original news release)

The investigation into this incident remains active and on-going, with officers from the North Cowichan RCMP General Investigation Section continuing gather evidence and following up on priority tasks, states Inspector Chris Bear the Officer in Charge of the North Cowichan RCMP Detachment.
