Merritt Man charged with multiple offences stemming from an assault

On March 4, 2021, the Merritt RCMP were called to a residence in the 2000 block of Blair Street for a male assaulting another male while wielding a baton. The incident was targeted and the suspect was eventually arrested by police. On September 8, 2021, Mr. Bradley McIsaac-Holmes was charged with Assault, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Breach of a Release Order. Mr. McIsaaw-Holmes is set to appear in Merritt Court on September 14, 2021.

Abbotsford Man caught in a stolen vehicle

On September 8, 2021, the Merritt RCMP received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a silver Acura RDX was driving at erratic speeds on Highway 5 near Comstock Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Abbotsford that morning. Police were able intercept the vehicle as it drove past Merritt and the driver was arrested without incident. On September 9, 2021, Mr. Tyler Klutskow was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation, and 2 counts of Failing to Comply with Release Order. He was remanded in custody and is set for a bail hearing on September 16, 2021.

On September 7, 2021, Mr. Travis CRANTZ pleaded guilty to Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Uttering Threats, stemming from an incident that occurred on November 1, 2020, in Merritt. Mr. Crantz received jail time served 160 days, Probation for 1 year and a 10 year firearms prohibition. To see the original news release, click here.
