Barriere RCMP seeking the arrest of Trevor James Richardson

Barriere RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating Trevor James Richardson who is wanted on a warrant in relation to an incident in April of this year.

In late April 2021, the Barriere RCMP opened an investigation into a break and enter to the residence of a recently deceased individual in Louis Creek. During the break and enter various items were discovered to have been taken.

Two weeks later, the Barriere RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision in McLure, BC, where belongings of the deceased were located, including a number of cheques. Further investigation determined that these cheques had been used to fraudulently purchase a vehicle.

Cpl. Robert Welsman of the Barriere RCMP states, As a result of the investigation, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 30-year-old Trevor James Richardson of Barriere, for one count of theft of motor vehicle and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000.


On September 10th 2021 Trevor Richardson was arrested after reporting to the Barriere RCMP Detachment.

"The Barriere RCMP wish to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation. The public's cooperation is appreciated, however there have been some harassing thing posted online" states Sergeant Chris Manseau, BC RCMP media relations officer "No one should make threats or harass anyone, and doing so could lead to a police investigation"
