Police investigating fatal MVI outside Quesnel

Quesnel RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service are investigating the circumstances of an early morning single vehicle crash that resulted in the death of one man.

At 5:10am on September 3, 2021, Quesnel RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash near the 2400 block of the Nazko Highway just West of the Blackwater Road.

The investigation revealed that a Ford F350 pickup was headed eastbound toward Quesnel when it left the roadway ejecting the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Emergency Health Services were quick to arrive on scene but the driver unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

According to the early investigation, the cause of the accident appears to be fatigue or that the driver had fallen asleep.

The BC Coroner’s Service has been notified and is investigating the cause of the man’s death.
Both lanes of the Nazko Highway are open.
