File # 2021-11499

On July 22, 2021 at about 4:30 pm traffic on the Trans Canada Highway was stopped while the RCMP safely removed a male from the Silver Bridge.  North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP frontline officers from "B" Watch received a call from a male who was on the bridge, he had said he was thinking of harming himself.  A number of the "B" Watch members immediately attended, stopped traffic and were able to safely move the male from the bridge.

"Our officers are very committed to the safety of our community and those who live here.  In this instance, they were able to get this man the help he needed," said S/Sgt. Chris Swain.

If you are struggling, reach out and ask for help.  The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC has a number of resources for those in need.
