File # 2021-2161

On Monday, June 14 2021, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a road rage incident in the 108 Mile Elementary school zone within 108 Mile Ranch BC from this morning. The incident involved two vehicles, one pulling a trailer. There was a traffic incident, which was observed by an off duty officer of the local BC Highway Patrol unit, and then the two vehicles pulled over and proceeded to get involved in a verbal confrontation within the school parking lot or near the school proper. The off duty officer intervened, the two were separated and, with cooler heads, were sent on their way after a plan was put in place.

The officer involved as a witness will be dealing with the two men by way of Motor Vehicle Act enforcement. This event took place as children were being picked up and dropped off at the school, so appropriate action is being taken to hold the two men involved accountable for their utter disregard of public safety. In a small community such as ours, it is not unusual for our officers to become involved in events and intervene for reasons of public safety while off-duty. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported to any person or witness.

Anyone with information on this event can contact the 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456 to speak with an officer, or they can report their information anonymously using BC Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS(8477). Please refer to file 2021-2161.
