File # 2021-5001

On June 2, 2021 just before 10:00 am, the Fort St John RCMP received a report of a disturbance in Taylor, BC, associated to a driver of a dark SUV. The same driver later returned to the area on an ATV.

Fort St John RCMP frontline police officers attended and observed the driver riding the ATV. The driver fled from police but the ATV was later located and determined to be stolen.

In an attempt to locate the driver, the Fort St John RCMP received warrant approval to enter the driver’s residence.  Upon entering the residence two firearms were located, neither registered to the property owner and one determined to have been stolen approximately a week earlier.

A short time later, the Fort St John RCMP located and arrest the driver who was held for court.

Criminal charges of Driving while Prohibited, Flight from Police, two counts of Possess Property Obtained by Crime, Uttering Threats and Possess a Firearm without a Licence have been approved for Archie Whitford.

Whitford has been remanded in custody for a court date on June 21, 2021.
