File # 2021-2098

A joint investigation carried out by both the Nelson RCMP and Nelson PD has led to the arrest of a man and a woman. Now police are looking to identify rightful owners and return stolen property.

On May 22, 2021, Nelson RCMP and the Nelson Police Department launched a joint investigation into several reports of theft from motor vehicles in the region. That collaborative investigation led to the arrest of a 25-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man both from Kelowna, BC. They have both since been released pending court appearances in August 2021.

Following the execution of a search warrant earlier today in Nelson BC, Nelson RCMP and NPD have recovered multiple items that are believed to be stolen. During the search, police recovered several cables or cell phone chargers, knives, back packs, coins, amongst other items. Various quantities of suspected illicit drugs were also seized by police.

As part of its ongoing investigation, the RCMP is trying to locate the rightful owners of the recovered items.
