File # 2021-3587

On Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 6:48 PM, Qusenel RCMP observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 97 near Dragon Hill Road.

When police attempted to stop the black Dodge pickup, the driver failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed southbound on Highway 97.

The same truck was later seen on Plywood Hill and police attempted to stop the truck on Northstar Road. Again the driver failed to stop and fled south on Highway 97.

Information was received from a witness who stated the truck was travelling on Gook Road then onto the Quesnel-Hydraulic Road driving dangerously.

The truck was located a short time later at a local business and the driver was arrested without incident.

The investigation is ongoing and police believe that speed and alcohol are contributing factors. If you were in the area and have dash cam video, the Quesnel RCMP would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the truck.

If you have any information about this contact the Quesnel RCMP at (250) 992-9211 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477.
