File # 2021-418

On Friday, March 12, 2021, Houston RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a local church. The Houston Fellowship Baptist Church had been broken into sometime between Wednesday, March 10 and Friday, March 12. The investigation revealed that a rear entry door had been forced open.

A large amount of electronic equipment was stolen from the church including equipment used for live streaming church services. A filing cabinet was pried open and a cash box containing approximately $200 was stolen. The value of the items stolen is over $40,000. Some of the items were later located stashed in the trees behind the church.

On Friday, March 12, 2021, Houston RCMP received a report of a residential break and enter where a suspect was arrested leaving the scene. Several items believed to have been stolen from the residence were located with the suspect.

Police are looking into what, if any connection, the suspect may have to the recent break and enters at the two churches.
