File # 2021-674
On Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 6:02 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP attended to an address in the 7000 block of 93 Mile Loop Road in 100 Mile House BC to assist 100 Mile Fire Rescue. Initial reports were to assist with a reported chimney fire.
Upon attendance, RCMP located 100 Mile Fire Rescue dealing with a fire occurring at a large
commercial Cannabis grow operation. Two subjects were detained at scene as members suspected there was no legal Health Canada licence issued for the number of plants being grown across the large rural property and its multiple buildings.
Once 100 Mile Fire Rescue ensured the safety of all buildings and the fire was out, the scene was turned over to RCMP to complete their investigation. A large amount of Cannabis, both packaged for distribution and in various stages of growth, were seized or destroyed.
RCMP, working with Health Canada, determined that the property had an active 49 plant licence. As such, 49 plants out of over 800 seized or destroyed plants were left for the caretakers. All other licences found in the residence were not for that location or were expired.
The investigation is ongoing at the time of this media release, charges are pending against the two
individuals located at the property. Please see the attached photos for reference.
Anyone with information on this investigation can contact the RCMP at 250-395-2456 or contact BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477) to provide their information anonymously. File 2021-674 refers.
