Shots ring out during dispute that quickly escalates outside Tappen home

On December 18, 2020 at 7:30 a.m., the Salmon Arm RCMP attended to a residence on James Road in Tappen to investigate a report of shots being fired.

Two people reportedly attend to a residence to pick up a family member who had been at the house overnight. When they arrived an argument ensued and the two allege that a person shot a gun in their direction from the doorstep of the residence.

When police attended a man and a woman were taken into custody as the investigation continued.

After concluding a search of the residence the man was released unconditionally and the woman was released on conditions in the evening of December 18, 2020 to appear in court on a future date.

No persons were injured as a result of the incident.
