2021-01-11 10:23 PST

On Saturday, January 9 2021, at 9:09 PM, 100 Mile House RCMP along with BC Ambulance, 108 Mile Fire Department, South Cariboo Search and Rescue and 100 Mile Fire Rescue attended to an address on Simon Lake Road near 100 Mile House BC for a report of a single snowmobile crash on Simon Lake.

A man had been driving on the lake in his sled when he had crashed, rolling the sled several times after hitting a large bump in the ice. The male received severe injuries as a result of the incident. He was extracted from the site by 108 Mile Fire Department and BC Ambulance, then transported to 100 Mile Hospital for further treatment. South Cariboo Search and Rescue attended the event after being called out by BC Ambulance to assist as well.

100 Mile House RCMP completed there investigation and found no criminality. It appears that ice conditions, darkness and speed were the causes of the accident at this time.

100 Mile House RCMP express their best wishes to the 100 Mile resident and his family and wish him a swift recovery. Our investigation is closed pending further information.
