Sicamous RCMP look to identify suspect in early morning robbery

RCMP in the Columbia-Shuswap region is seeking information that will lead to the identity of a person responsible for a robbery early Sunday morning in Sicamous.

On December 6, 2020 at 1:30 a.m., Sicamous RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the 7-11 store situated on Rauma Crescent.

Police have learned that a lone suspect entered the store, approached the employee working behind the counter and demanded both money and cigarettes. The suspect fled the store with a small undisclosed amount of cash and some cigarettes.

Police were on scene within minutes of the report, and a police canine team was brought in from the Vernon North Okanagan Police Dog Services to attempt a track of the suspect. However the suspect was not located. No weapon was reportedly produced during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, in his 50s, of a slender build, approximately 6 feet tall, with grey hair. He was wearing a pair of black pants, a black hoodie and a black mask covering his nose and mouth.
