Head on collision prompts closure of Trans-Canada Highway near Salmon Arm

On November 29, 2020 at approximately 11:50 p.m., Salmon Arm RCMP received a report of a two vehicle head on collision on the Trans-Canada, approximately 10 kilometers east of Salmon Arm.

RCMP, BC Emergency Health Service and Salmon Arm Fire Department arrived on scene to find that two pickup trucks traveling in opposite directions, had collided head on. The impact of which, was primarily on the driver's side of both vehicles.

Both drivers were conscious and suffered what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. They were each transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services after being extricated for their vehicles by first responders at the scene.

The Highway was closed for a period of time as the drivers of the two pickup trucks were treated and transported to hospital and the wreckage was removed.

The police investigation into the incident continues at this time.
