File # 2020-7074
As police were conducting an investigation into a break and enter, investigators followed tracks away from the property which led to the discovery of two more break and enters to properties in the area.
On November 16, 2020 at 7 a.m., Salmon Arm RCMP was called to a break and enter to a property in the 2600-block of Eagle Bay Road.
As front line officers approached the last residence which was also broken into a male, who is known to police, ran from the property with break and enter tools in hand, states S/Sgt. Scott West.
The officers gave chase and the foot pursuit ended with a suspect in custody for the three break-ins as well as possession of break and enter instruments and driving while prohibited.
The suspect had been the driver of a vehicle which rolled over in a ditch in the area. Further investigation revealed that the suspect in custody had arrest warrants which were outstanding for other criminal offences and had been on the run for months.
In this one arrest the investigators were able to solve 3 break and enter investigations and get some property back to the owners of the houses. The investigators also concluded the collision file along with closing off a number of outstanding arrest warrants.
