File # 2020-8911

In the early morning hours, Cranbrook RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 3 and 95.

At approximately 2:30AM, Cranbrook RCMP were called to a collision between a semi-truck and a small car in the 6000-block of Highway 3 and 95. Once on scene police were directed to the vehicle and found that the driver and sole occupant was deceased. The driver of the semi was unhurt.

Initial reports indicate the eastbound Mitsubishi crossed the center line and struck the westbound semi-truck. The collision caused a fire and RCMP were able to extinguish the flames.

The BC Coroners Service attended the scene and is conducting its own concurrent fact finding investigation to determine what happened. The investigation is ongoing.
