Lone Butte man arrested and charged following 2018 Homicide

A Lone Butte man has been arrested and charged in relation to a December 2018 homicide.
In December of 2018, 49-year-old Wayne Seterengen was found dead in a residence in the Lone Butte area by the 100 Mile House RCMP. The death was considered suspicious and the North District Major Crime Unit was called to assist in the investigation(link to original news release)
On October 7, 2020, the B.C. RCMP North District Major Crime Unit arrested 64-year-old, Paul DeCoffe for Seterngen’s homicide.
DeCoffe of Lone Butte, has been charged with one count of murder and will appear in Supreme Court in Williams Lake on Thursday, October 8, 2020.
S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the BCRCMP states,
We believe this was an isolated incident with no links to gangs or the illegal drug trade. There is no evidence to suggest that the general public is, or was at risk as the investigation progressed.
