On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Houston RCMP received a report of a suspicious occurrence where a note was left on a vehicle outside a residence in the 3100 Block of Park Lane in Houston. The letter referenced a debt that was owed in connection with the drug trade.
The owner of the vehicle, who had no idea who the letter was intended for, alerted police immediately.
On Friday, September 25, 2020, the police were called to the same residence for another suspicious event believed to be connected to the September 16 2020 call.
A man attended the same residence looking for a person who did not live there and left without incident, when told that. The man left in a vehicle and the description was provided to the police.
Shortly after, the Houston RCMP located the vehicle and it was stopped without incident. During the vehicle stop, investigation led to the arrest of the three people inside the vehicle.
When police searched the vehicle they located and seized, a semi-automatic shotgun with loaded magazine, suspected methamphetamine and heroin and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. Counterfeit $50 bills were also found during the investigation.
Police have identified the person that the three suspects were looking for and it is believed they were attempting to collect a drug debt from him when they went to the wrong house.
One person remains in custody and will appear in court on Thursday, Oct 6 2020. The other two suspects have been released pending a future court date. The investigation is ongoing and if you have any information about contact the Houston RCMP at (250) 845-2204 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477
