Routine patrols lead police to large marihuana grow

While conducting routine patrols throughout the community of McBride on Friday, August 14 2020, RCMP discover a significant amount of marijuana plants.

At a residence, in plain view in the driveway, police can see multiple marijuana plants, in excess of the legal number allowed. With this information and further investigation, a search warrant was granted.

On Monday, August 24, 2020 police searched a residence on Columbia Street in McBride and located and seized over 130 marijuana plants, in their vegetative state, growing in 3 separate greenhouse style structures. Police also located a substantial amount of dried cannabis, including prepackaged marijuana in containers, bags of loose marijuana and multiple suspected drug paraphernalia.

One man was arrested at the scene and later released and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Friday, October 16 2020.
