Two persons arrested in Salmo with drugs

On April 18, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. a RCMP E Division Roaving Traffic Services officer along with a Salmo frontline officer conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 3/6 outside of Salmo, B.C. Two adults were arrested during this traffic stop and quantities of drugs believed to be ecstasy (MDMA), acid (LSD), hashish, marihuana and cannabis oil were seized.

Both suspects were later released and will appear in Nelson Provincial Court at a future date. Charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act will be recommended against both suspects.

The vehicle the suspects were driving was deemed unsafe and it was impounded.

E Division Roaving Traffic and the Salmo RCMP remain dedicated to the eradication of illicit drug use and trafficking in this area to ensure the public's safety.
