2022-12-12 11:19 PST

On Friday, December 9, 2022, BC Highway Patrol officers from Williams Lake and 100 Mile House conducted road checks on Highway 97, in 100 Mile House, alongside Commercial Vehicles Safety and Natural Resources Enforcement officers focusing on commercial vehicle safety and vehicle defects.

Tractor trailer unit stopped with door open and driver speaking to an officer.

Many commercial vehicles were checked during the 4 hours period and several safety infractions were observed and addressed before creating a dangerous situation.

One commercial truck was found with significant mechanical issues causing it to be removed from the roadway.

The majority of commercial vehicles checked were in acceptable condition, with no major safety concerns observed, a testament to the professionalism of the majority of commercial drivers, stated Cst Matt Ziemer of BCHP 100 Mile House.

Logging Truck stopped roadside with driver standing by the door.

The 100 Mile House BC Highway Patrol would like to remind the public to ensure their vehicles are in a safe operating condition to prevent being stranded on the side of the road, especially during these cold winter months.
