Investigation into shooting at the stampede grounds continues

On Sunday, July 3, 2022, at approximately 3:37 pm, Williams Lake RCMP received multiple reports of a shooting on the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds.

Two individuals were injured during this and were taken to hospital for medical treatment. Both people are expected to survive their injuries.

While police believe this to be a targeted shooting one innocent bystander was injured, said S/Sgt Darren Dodge, Acting OIC Williams Lake RCMP.

While multiple support units, including North District Major Crime Unit, were called to assist, Williams Lake General Investigation Section has conduct of the file. The investigation is a priority and is ongoing. If anyone who has information, dash cam or other video and has not yet spoken with police, you are asked to call the Williams Lake RCMP at (250) 392-6211
