Suspect wanted for multiple offences arrested by police

On October 14, West Shore RCMP received numerous reports involving the same male suspect who is alleged to have committed several offences between View Royal and Langford.

At 8:14 a.m., police received a report of a male suspect who threw a rock at Cascadia Liquor Store on Helmcken Rd in View Royal. The rock cause damage to the storefront window.

At 10:14 a.m., police received a report of a male suspect who stole a bottle of liquor from BC Liquor Store on Jacklin Rd in Langford.

At 10:30 a.m., police received a report of shoplifting and assault that took place at Canadian Tire on Langford Parkway in Langford. A male suspect had shoplifted bolt cutters from the store and when confronted by an employee outside the store, the male suspect assaulted the employee. The employee suffered minor physical injuries.

Police attended each of the calls listed above however, despite efforts to locate the suspect, the suspect was not located.

Finally, at 3:19 p.m. police responded to a report of an intoxicated male laying outside a residence located near the 2800 block of Jacklin Rd. West Shore RCMP frontline officers attended and confirmed the male was indeed the same male suspect who was identified in all three incidents listed above.

The 33-year-old male suspect was arrested for mischief under $5000, assault and, two counts of theft under $5000. He was held in custody until sober and then released on an Undertaking with several conditions and is set to appear in court at the end of the month.
