Three cougars seen in backyard of home on Latoria Rd

On January 23rd at approximately 8:20 a.m., West Shore RCMP received a call from a Colwood resident who advised that 3 cougars were in his backyard. The man was safe inside his home near the 580 block of Latoria Rd in Colwood.

The cougars have moved on from the backyard of the home, but police wish to make the public aware of the confirmed cougar sighting. One of our officers was in the area conducting patrols and spotted a single cougar crossing the street and going into the Havenwood Park in Colwood shortly after the call was received. The officer advised the cougar appeared to be younger and not quite full grown, said Cpl. Nancy Saggar West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.
