Sooke Road shut down as police investigate 2 vehicle collision

On November 24th 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m. the West Shore RCMP received a complaint of a head on collision involving a cube truck and a Mazda CX5 near the 3800 block of Sooke Rd in Langford.
Police shut the road down in both directions while emergency crews were tending to the scene. The road was later opened up at 2 p.m.
Police determined the cube truck veered into the oncoming lane and collided with the Mazda. The driver of the Mazda, a 56-year-old woman was the only occupant of her vehicle and was taken to hospital to be assessed for serious non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision is still under investigation and police are working to determine why the driver of the cube truck veered into the oncoming lane. Thus far, police have ruled out impairment as a cause.
Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen this collision or have dash camera footage, to come forward and speak to police. West Shore RCMP can be reached at 250-474-2264.
