Impaired driving investigations are often complex, sometimes difficult to detect and can result in serious, life threatening circumstances. The West Shore RCMP is dedicated to its ongoing education, training and detection of impaired driving.
This week, West Shore RCMP officers Cst Mike Zwicker and Cst John Taylor instructed courses at the Detachment on drug and alcohol impaired driver training for officers from West Shore RCMP and other jurisdictions.
Between Cst Mike Zwicker and Cst John Taylor they have investigated over 500 impaired driving investigations.
By the time we catch someone operating a vehicle while impaired, statistics show they have already driven impaired approximately 80 times
, says Cst Mike Zwicker with the West Shore RCMP Serious Crime Unit.
