File # 2021-3387
West Shore RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect after a vehicle parked at a residential apartment building was broken into.
On February 23, the West Shore RCMP was notified that a vehicle had its window smashed and items were subsequently stolen from it while parked in an unsecure parkade at an apartment building on Redington Ave in Langford.
Video surveillance obtained from the building depicted what appeared to be a Caucasian male, slim build, 20-30 years old, wearing a grey and red Ecko tracksuit.
We would like to remind the public to not leave property in your vehicle. Thieves will break in for as little as a few coins or a pack of cigarettes says Cst. Alex Bérubé, Media Relations Officer with the West Shore RCMP.
Once armed with a few pieces of ID, thieves are able to then apply for, and receive loans in your name, additional credit cards, and cash advances. If you don’t notice the theft for a number of days, the damage done could be extensive.
Anyone with information about this male is asked to contact Cst. Skulmoski of the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit at 250-474-8768.
