Update: Two youths charged in South Surrey shooting

Surrey RCMP is updating the public that two youths have been charged in the investigation of shots fired at a residence in South Surrey.

Background:

On February 1, 2024, at approximately 1:21 a.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of shots fired at a residence in the 2800-block of 154 Street (See previous release: 2024-02-01). At the time of this incident, there was speculation circulating that this was connected to foreign interference. Investigators have not established any links to foreign interference in relation to this matter.

On February 6, 2024, the Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the 7700-block of 140 Street. Police seized three firearms and multiple electronic devices during the search (See Previous Release: 2024-02-08)

On February 12, 2024, two 16-year-old males were arrested and the BC Prosecution Service approved charges of Discharging a Firearm into a place and Possessing a Loaded Prohibited Firearm. The youths are currently being held in custody awaiting their next court appearance.
