The Surrey RCMP 2020 Report to the Community is now available on the Surrey RCMP website.
The report provides an overview of the Surrey RCMP’s response to community policing priorities and crime trends in 2020, as well as new initiatives established to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.
Residents and business owners will get a more in depth look at the work of our officers, employees and volunteers, and how we adapted to meet the needs of the community during an unprecedented year.
Our people are at the heart of our service and, this year, our Report to the Community includes some of their personal insights into the work they do and their contributions to keeping Surrey safe. Our sincere thanks to Surrey residents, business owners, and our community and media partners for being our allies in public safety throughout 2020,
says Assistant Commissioner Brian Edwards, Surrey RCMP Officer in Charge. Despite a pandemic, we improved our response time, worked with the community to reduce both violent and property crime, and continued to advance innovative strategies to provide an efficient and responsive police service.
